Attorney, Steve Buquicchio, elected to Red Cross Board
January 28, 2011- The American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids is pleased to announce that Varnum partner Steve Buquicchio has been selected to serve a three year term on the Board of Directors.
As a Board Member, Steve will help The American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids, which serves a five-county region, including Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, and Ottawa counties, fulfill its many roles in the community. Through lifesaving classes, disaster relief, services to the armed forces and blood donations, the Red Cross works hard to help individuals prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
A trial attorney, Buquicchio’s practice consists of creditor’s rights and litigation including federal and state receiverships, fraud litigation, loan workouts, collections and foreclosures, commercial litigation, business litigation, consumer protection litigation, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) litigation and truth-in-lending (TILA) litigation. He serves in many leadership positions within the community and legal field. He has served as chair of the Grand Rapids Bar Association’s Litigation Section and is a current member of its Executive Committee. Buquicchio, who is board-certified in creditor’s rights law by the American Board of Certification, is a member of the Board of Editor’s for Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly and a member of the American Bar Association Advisory Panel.
In addition to his position at the Red Cross, Buquicchio is involved in many civic and charitable organizations. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Chapter of the March of Dimes – Grand Rapids Division, and is on the Board of Project Blueprint and Schools of Hope for Heart of West Michigan United Way.
