Give Warmth. Give Hope. Donate Blankets to Fire Clients at the Red Cross.

Are you a nifty knitter? Or a cool crochet-er? Or maybe just a blanket buyer? If so, we need your help!  We just completed an inventory of disaster supplies, and we are almost out of afghans, quilts, and blankets to give to the clients we serve when we respond to local fires.

Late fall and winter typically create higher volumes of house fires because of the use of alternative heating sources. We expect to serve over 300 people this winter and want to be able to wrap a warm blanket around every single one of them.

Here are the criteria around the blankets:

All sizes are welcome (infant to adult).

Homemade afghans and quilts.

New or gently used blankets. No rips or stains.

No religious language or pictures.

No references to alcohol, tobacco, or weapons.

We need these blankets delivered between now and January. Visit our website for more information. www.redcrossggr.org.
