I Pity the Fool Who Doesn’t Follow These Fireworks Tips

Nothing gets people all riled-up and excited like an extra-long weekend. As the three-day 4th of July weekend stretches out luxuriously in front of us, it’s easy enough to get so laid-back that we forget about keeping safe. Between grilling out, fireworks, swimming, yard games and hammocks, there is ample space for injury and disaster.

(Psssst — don’t forget to make sure your First Aid kit is stocked and your Red Cross Ready plan is in place!)

I would be remiss as your resident Red Cross blogger if I didn’t pass along a few tips to keep you and your family intact and unharmed during this festive holiday weekend, specifically when it comes to fireworks. However, in lieu of a bulleted list (which you can still find here!), I wanted to share this amusing video I found from our northern neighbors in Midland.

Who doesn’t love a good safety rap? I personally kept waiting for Mr. T to pop out of nowhere and yell, “I pity the fool who tries to light a dud firecracker!” Well, he didn’t, but this is still worth watching — amusing AND instructive!

Happy 4th of July!
