Stephanie Meyer Gives Red Cross a Bite of the Profits

Vampires are all en vogue nowadays — people who never though they gave a hoot are finding themselves secretly cracking open Twilight books or forking over the $8 to the movies while wearing large sunglasses and a shameful expression. I admit, when I first began reading the books, I felt more than a little ridiculous carrying them out of the library. I was prepared to tell everyone they were for my fictitious younger sister until I realized, well, I liked them. For those like me, you now have a reason to feel a little less dorky about liking these teenage vampire sagas.

Twilight author Stephanie Meyer is showing her true colors (red, obviously) with the release of her newest book, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. For every copy sold, Meyer is donating $1 to the American Red Cross.

So indulge your Twilight longings, readers — you can feel warm and fuzzy that you are also helping a worthy cause. That’s what I call a win-win!
