With the bone-shaking thunderstorms that have rocked the Greater Grand Rapids area this weekend, it’s no surprise that an estimated 100,000 people are without power. We thought we’d pop in and help out!

Also, DID YOU KNOW: Our awesome volunteers stepped in and assisted 23 people this past weekend who experienced house fires and power outages (there were even two instances of trees falling on trailer homes — yikes!). We have some really amazing volunteers — ones who are willing to get up in the middle of the night, drive through a crazy thunderstorm, and go help a neighbor.
P.S. We realize the irony of posting power outage tips on a blog, which most people need power to access. We just figured it couldn’t hurt!
