Pass the Potato Salad, Clara!

Check out this neat photo of Clara Barton and her Red Cross friends enjoying the great outdoors with a picnic in 1898. (Thanks to the State Library and Archives of Florida for this photo!)

In these first beautiful days of spring in West Michigan, make sure to follow Clara’s example and get outside! And in case of plastic silverware injuries (it gets slippery!), don’t forget your first aid kit!

  2. Great heritage photo. Picnics are always refreshing, even when helping in the Red Cross.

  3. This is very nostalgic and a wonderful chance to look back on the early times of Red Cross workers.
