The Disaster Relief Fund gives the American Red Cross the chance to help anywhere in the nation. Whenever and wherever disaster strikes, the Disaster Relief Fund will ensure that Red Cross help comes quickly.
The National Disaster Relief Fund is empty. The Red Cross is currently borrowing money to help the victims of Hurricane Ike and other disasters.
Throughout the country, American Red Cross chapters are in the midst of a campaign to collectively raise $100 million by the end of the year for the National Disaster Relief Fund to help those who need us. We cannot do this without YOUR help.
As your local chapter, we have already sent over 50 local volunteers to help throughout the Gulf coast with disaster response to Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. We are also continually training more volunteers in our community and rely on our local resources to do so. When making a contribution, consider donating a portion of your gift to your local chapter.
You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year, disasters like the hurricanes of 2008, by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster. 100% of your dollars donated to the National Disaster Relief Fund will go to help victims of these and other disasters.
