The American Red Cross is offering Babysitter’s Training courses during spring break for youth ages 11 to 15 years old to learn the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants.
Babysitting is a valuable first job for youth. Knowing how to better care for the young builds confidence to hold, feed, and care for infants and toddlers, work with children safely, and handle emergency situations. Babysitter’s training is also a great first step to learning entrepreneurial and career development skills for students.
Lessons Include:
- Basic care for children and infants including holding, feeding, and diapering
- Basic health and safety for children including First Aid
- Leadership development training
- How to develop a babysitting business including pricing, resumé building, and interview guidance
